My Love for Animals
Hi! I'm Nicole Ferguson, the proud owner of Pawz & Whiskerz.

I graduated from Medina County Career Center in 2013, where I completed the Animal Care Program. But my love for animals started long before that. Ever since I was a little girl, I've had a passion for animals of all shape and sizes. I grew up in a home full of pets - at one point we had two English Mastiffs, a German Shepherd mix, and a Beagle all at the same time.

When I was younger I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. That dream changed when we had to say goodbye to our first dog Ramsey. Saying goodbye was one of the hardest things my family has gone through. That experience helped me realize that while I loved animals deeply, my heart wasn't meant for veterinary medicine. Instead, I knew I wanted to care for animals in a different way - one focused on comfort, trust, and love.
The Story Behind Pawz & Whiskerz
After graduating from the Animal Care program, I worked at a doggy daycare and boarding facility. That experience confirmed what I already knew: working with animals isn't just something I enjoy - it's what I'm meant to do.

That's how Pawz & Whiskerz was born.

I saw a growing need for reliable, compassionate in home-pet care. There's nothing better than knowing your pets can stay comfortable in their own home while you're away. Starting Pawz & Whiskerz has been one of the best decisions of my life. This isn't just a job to me - it's my passion.
Our Family
In November 2024, I married my best friend, Nick, and together we run Pawz & Whiskerz as a family-operated business. Nick is my biggest supporter and also my business partner. He helps behind the scenes and assists with visits when needed, and he is just as passionate about caring for animals and growing our business as I am.

Nick and I share our home with our two cats, Nelvis and Narlee. We found them as kittens in our backyard in 2022 and of course they became part of our family. They remind us every day just how important it is to know your pets are loved and cared for when you're away.
